MS Word problems with website design?

I have been told that MS Word should not be used when designing webpages and copying and pasting text . Some characters are not represented correctly.
Is there a word processor, that is NOT a Microsoft product, that has text formating and font styles that works well when copying and pasting to WYSIWYG webpage, blogs or autoresponders programs?

There is NO word-processor that is a proper web site editor. Get a proper editor to make your pages. Do NOT use FrontPage as it requires server-side extensions to work and it puts in the same Microsoft Schema code that Word, Publisher does.
