Craigslist Classifieds 101 – Using Autoresponders
This articles uncovers a little bit more about posting ads on Craigslist, not getting your ads ghosted or your Craigslist account closed down permanently.
One of the things that you can do on craigslist when you post your ads is to post a generic ad, don’t give out any particular details about your business your address or your phone number unless of course your ad is posted in the services section as a basic business listing.
In your craigslist ad just have the person contact you if they want to hear more information or have any questions about your product or service. After the person responds to your ad you can then referred them to your website or anywhere you want them to visit.
By not listing your business name, address and phone number in a craigslist ad you’ll be pretty much anonymous by the craigslist system, you don’t want craigslist to know who you are at all. Craigslist will find you if they find these duplicate phone numbers and try to match them up to make sure they’re all coming from the same account. If they do not come from the same account then you got problems because craigslist will immediately peg you as a spammer and if you lucky they will only remove all of your ads and not freeze your account forever.
I use a free e-mail program called Thunderbird e-mail. Thunderbird is great because it allows you to set up auto responders. An autoresponder is an automatic email response to the ad that you placed. The email is automatically sent out when the person responds to your ad.
It is very easy to set up autoresonders. You type and email like you normally do and then save it as an email template. For every 500 emails I autorespond to, only 5% actually send follow emails. By using autoresponders I am able to spend time working instead of responding to emails. I also know that the 5% who do follow up are potential clients and I handle them with care as I try to earn their business.
I don’t know of any other email programs on the market whether they are free or paid that can do the work of free Thunderbird email.
